Myth Busting: Did Hitler Hate Horses?
We are always told that Hitler hated horses. The only statement I have ever found that could possibly be misconstrued to read as such is a sentence in Bormann’s Table Talk, where Hitler refers to the horse as a somewhat unintelligent and brutish animal. That does not suffice as hatred. I might also add that Hitler had helped bury a dead horse during his tour of duty in WWI. Why bother?
I read in one of my anti-Hitler books that Hitler refused to have mounted cavalry troops serve during the Second World War because he “hated” horses. Speer had also stated that Hitler “hated horses.” In fact, Speer is probably the original source for this information in the first place. He is a very dubious source.
The fact of the matter is, this is another lie, because there were several mounted SS battalions, as evidenced in Hitler’s White Russians and When the East Came West.
Here are a few photos which help dispel some of the most well-known lies about Hitler.

Hitler supposedly hated Christmas too. Yet, here he is at none other than a Christmas dinner with fellow adjutants.
Would someone care to explain this one away?
“Oh, well, he was simply making his presence known. He had to go to this dinner.”
Hitler didn't have to do anything. He was the Fuehrer of Germany. He wrote law. If he had wanted Christmas destroyed and Christian churches destroyed he would have ordered it done. Lenin did. So did Stalin. Makow, Rivera, and Solzhenitsyn have already written about these facts. |

I don’t know about you, but I just don’t get the impression that Hitler was the type to hate much of anything, except criminals.
He loved kids and dogs, he loved his niece Geli and his wife Eva. He loved to feed squirrels that ran up onto his shoulders while he walked and discussed things with Albert Speer. Speer talks about it. He loved his people, that’s for sure.
Besides, there’s a photo of him feeding a horse out of his hand. Would a person want to hand-feed an animal that he or she hated? This horse was actually an abandoned war horse which was encountered during Hitler’s tour of France.
I don’t really like dogs. I go out of my way to avoid them. I definitely don’t try to hand feed them. In fact, I would rather they didn't get near me at all. This is normally the way people react when they encounter an animal they do not like.

Here’s a photo of a Slovak volunteer cavalry guard during a “Slovak State celebration.” These men volunteered to serve in Hitler’s honorable Waffen-SS.
The Kalmuck volunteers were solely on foot and horseback. The Natsos were so impressed with their speed and agility on horseback that they hired them to serve as their protectors while traversing the Russian marshes. They rode Panje horses. The European horses could not handle the freezing temperatures. |

This little synopsis on the back of this book here dispels several myths in just a couple paragraphs.
There’s a photo of Hitler with Prime Minister al-Gailani of Iraq. I thought he was “anti-Semitic” and a “racist”? Why would he collaborate with “subhumans” if the Natsos were so “superior”? Even Himmler greatly admired the Arabian units and was thrilled to work with the Grand Mufti and the Handschar Muslim SS. He called them “our Muslims.” That was a very personal statement on his behalf and I think he meant that. To act as though these men were “used” when they voluntarily gave their lives to defend Europe from Judeo-Bolshevism would be very belittling of their status as men. They were just as tough and honorable as any German and the Germans knew it. That’s why they offered to collaborate. Hitler spoke about this with Wagener and Bormann in private. There is also a picture of a Kalmuck SS warrior with a Natso eagle on his specially-made hat. Notice that his hat conforms to his culture? Does the American military offer culturally sensitive gear? I would like to know. The Natsos always tried to accommodate their various volunteers to make them feel as welcome and comfortable as possible. The Muslim warriors were issued gold-plated Korans for their service and they were issued special head gear as well.
Below is a video of Hitler’s Muslim SS volunteers. Please note their unique military gear and patches. The Natsos set the precedent for racists the world over! They allowed other races of men to be comfortable in their own skin and with their own culture. How racist! The last video is Hitler talking to the youth as though they are responsible little human beings. How horrid!
